Kids love playing with play dough! Over the past few years we have tried many different recipes to find the perfect consistency. We have tried recipes where it was cooked and not cooked. We have made individual batches with the kids which is great fun. This is the recipe we have come to love, it’s soft and if it is kept sealed up it can last a long time. They start with vibrant colors but after a day or two it inevitably becomes a big blob of brownish or greenish play dough, but that doesn’t stop the fun. Here it is:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
2 Tablespoons oil
Food coloring
1 1/2 cups boiling hot water
Mix this all together, it may be a bit gloopy but let it sit a few minutes and then knead it a bit and you are good to go! Enjoy!
